Our next meeting, Thursday 25 October, 7-9pm, Haringey Civic Centre, with Councillor Kirsten Hearn (cabinet member for environment), Joe Baker (council carbon manager), and representatives of Arups who have been drawing up the route-map for carbon reduction. Open to all.
Our councils should play a vital role on the environment, including reducing carbon emissions, controlling new development, and how they invest pension funds.
But given the other pressures they face, they might not deliver on this agenda unless they see pressure from voters.
